A Historic Gathering in Karbala with Over 100 Fighters: Oyama Karate Organization Paves the Way for Iraq's Champions to the World StageHoly Karbala, Iraq In a magnificent scene reflecting ambition and determination, the Al-Husseiniya Youth Forum, an affiliate of the Ministry of Youth and Sports (Iraq's primary government sponsor of youth and sports), hosted a unique gathering on Monday, September 1, 2025. The event brought together more than 100 fighters from the Oyama Karate Organization.This large-scale gathering, hosted by the "Royal Lineage Dojo" of the Al-Ataishi Activities Branch, led by Sensei Dhurgham Ali Abdul Amir, head of the Karbala Activities Department, saw broad participation from various dojos and branches across the province. Guests from the capital, Baghdad, also took part, including:Samurai Shin Dojo (Al-Wand Activities Branch), led by Sempai Amir Sadiq Khalif Al-Saeedi.Martyrs Dojo (Al-Bughanim Activities Branch), led by Sempai Hussein Jawad Al-Ghanimi.Kamikaze Dojo (Hayy Al-Muwadhafeen Activities Branch), led by Sempai Jaafar Sadiq Awda Al-Fatlawi.Al-Zaeem Dojo (Al-Kadhimiya Activities Branch Baghdad Department), led by Sensei Riyad Aref Abdul Amir Al-Fattal.Al-Abtal Dojo (Al-Taji Activities Branch Baghdad Department), led by coaches Musa Hussein and Fares Hussein Al-Fartusi.The gathering was led by Sensei Riyad Aref Al-Fattal and Sensei Dhurgham Ali Al-Masoudi. It featured intensive sessions to prepare fighters for the 18th Iraq Shin Kyokushinkai Karate Championship. The event also included displays of fundamental Kihon techniques, as well as awareness sessions on ethics and "Budo" values in Shin Kyokushinkai.At the conclusion of the event, the heads of the departments provided a detailed explanation to the participants about the organization's new project to support champions representing Shin Kyokushinkai Iraq in international forums, particularly the upcoming Middle East Championship. The gathering also included the distribution of recently issued promotion certificates and activity notebooks for new trainees, all amidst an atmosphere of joy and celebration.This massive gathering underscores the Oyama Organization's active role in enhancing the abilities of youth and developing the art of karate in Iraq, as well as its ambitious plans to nurture a new generation of champions. .
