Featuring Iraq's Elite Champions: Oyama Karate Organization Successfully Concludes the "First Basic Development Camp & 50-Man Fight Challenge" in BaghdadBaghdad Official Media OfficeUnder the theme of "Will and Discipline," and under the direct supervision of Shihan Iyad Al-Khafaji, Branch Chief of the World Karate Organization (WKO) Shin Kyokushinkai in Iraq, the capital city of Baghdad hosted the "First Training Camp" and the "First Winter Basic Development Course for Kata and Kihon" on Friday, April 3, 2026, at the Baghdad Sports Center in Karrada.Wide Participation and National RepresentationThe camp served as a major sporting demonstration, featuring more than 70 male and female fighters from various Iraqi provinces (Baghdad, Karbala, Dhi Qar, Muthanna, and Babylon). Twelve dojos and martial arts organizations participated, showcasing a unified front for martial arts:Black Belt Dojo for Bagot: Led by Coach Mustafa Jamal Al-Hasnawi.Al-Sadda Club Dojo (Shotokan): Led by Coach Ali Mohammed Jassim.Al-Sadda Club Dojo (Shin Do Kai): Led by Coach Zaid Abbas Makki.Legends of Muthanna Dojo: Led by Coach Abbas Mohsen Zaid.Tsuki Dojo: Led by Coach Muhannad Ahmed Abdul Sahib.Al-Shuhada Dojo: Led by Coach Hussein Jawad Al-Ghanimi.Kamikaze Dojo: Led by Coach Jaafar Sadiq Awda.Samurai Shin Dojo: Led by Coach Amir Sadiq Khulaif.Royal Lineage Dojo: Led by Coach Dhurgham Ali Abdul Amir.Mustafa Al-Kubaisi Dojo: Led by Coach Mustafa Sabah Maarouf.Bushido 2 Dojo: Led by Coach Hadi Iyad Al-Khafaji.Champions Dojo: Led by the brothers, Coaches Moussa and Fares Hussein Abdul Kadhim.Al-Zaeem Dojo: Led by Coach Riyadh Arif Abdul Amir.High-Level Technical and Organizational ManagementThe supervising technical committee, chaired by Eng. Salah Abdul Mahdi Shiyaa (Vice President of the Oyama Organization) and composed of Sensei Riyadh Arif Abdul Amir and Sensei Dhurgham Ali Abdul Amir, managed the organization in collaboration with the attending coaching staff. The camp opened with a welcoming speech by Eng. Salah, who praised the spirit of brotherhood and extended a special welcome to coaches and fighters from sister organizations.Training Program and the Challenge of WillThe curriculum included intensive training throughout the day, starting with refining Kihon and Kata skills to enhance technical proficiency. The camp reached its climax with the sparring (Kumite) challenges:Junior Category (Under 15): Participants completed a continuous 15-man fight challenge.Senior Category (Over 15): Champions passed the ultimate test by undertaking a sequential 50-man fight challenge, amidst an atmosphere of unparalleled enthusiasm and total commitment to the values of mutual respect and challenge.Exchange of Honors and a Historic ConclusionIn a gesture of mutual appreciation, the Oyama Karate Organization received a certificate of thanks and appreciation from Lieutenant General Dr. Saad Maan Ibrahim, President of the Iraqi Bagot Federation. In return, the Organization presented an official letter of thanks to His Excellency and all participating coaches.The camp concluded with a grand coronation ceremony, where all participants were awarded commemorative medals and official certificates of participation.
